## Attic Zip Screen Analysis

In an attic the zip screen works in two positions: on the open edge of the roof terrace it cuts the wind — at high elevation the most intense wind is on this volume; on the mansard outer façade it stops the sun before the glass. At a high position the motorised order is a must; there is no manual access.

The open edge of the roof terrace is closed to the wind with channel-locked fabric.

### High Wind

The most intense wind is at roof elevation; the channelled system is designed for this condition.

On the mansard outer façade the sun is stopped before the glass.

## Wind management at roof elevation

The attic is the windiest elevation of the house; the terrace and the sloped façade are the planes most exposed to open air. The zip screen cuts this wind with its channel-locked fabric.

On the mansard outer façade the sun is stopped before the glass; it brakes the attic from being the fastest-heating volume of the house.
