# Between-Glass Pleated Blind

The form where the fabric works in the sealed volume between two panes. A blind that never dusts and asks no maintenance.

## What Goes On Inside the Unit?

In this form the blind is not outside the glass but inside it . The pleated fabric and its mini mechanism sit in the sealed volume between two glass sheets. The unit is sealed with argon fill at the factory. There is no connection drilling the glass or opening the volume.

- Outer pane. Street side
- Inner volume. Fabric + mini mechanism + argon fill
- Inner pane. Room side — the control slider runs on this surface

## Control Types

Three ways to operate the blind inside the sealed unit from outside.

Between-glass blind control types and their properties
Control — Operation — Note
Magnetic Slider — The magnet on the outer glass drags the inner mechanism — Standard. No electricity needed
Corded — Works with a cord exiting the unit — Control with outside access
Motorised — In-unit micro motor + remote — Premium. Solar-cell option available

## What the Sealed Volume Delivers

Six concrete results of the blind being inside the glass.

- Never Dusts The fabric is inside the sealed unit. No dust, moisture or hand contact.
- Maintenance-Free The in-glass fabric stays clean for life. No cleaning needed.
- Hole-Free Control The magnetic slider runs the inner mechanism without drilling the glass.
- Hygiene A blind that cannot be touched — in clinics, kitchens and children’s rooms.
- Joinery Preserved Only the glass unit changes. The frame and joinery stay in place.
- Extra Layer The in-unit blind works like an extra barrier inside the glass.

## Questions About the Between-Glass Pleated Blind

Does the between-glass blind gather dust?

No. The fabric is inside the sealed glass unit. It never contacts dust, hands or outside air. That is this system’s biggest advantage.

Can it be retrofitted to existing glass?

The glass unit must be replaced. The blind is produced inside the unit. The existing joinery’s glass comes out and the unit with the blind goes in. The joinery is preserved.

What happens if the blind fails?

The magnetic control mechanism is accessed from outside. Service is possible without breaking the unit. The parts working in the sealed volume are already sheltered.

Does it affect insulated-glass performance?

Since the blind is produced inside the unit, the argon fill and sealing are preserved. It also behaves like an extra layer inside the glass.

The joinery and connection styles where the between-glass system mounts are described in the [installation types](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/pleated-blind-installation-types/); fabric and rail options are listed in the [product catalogue](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/pleated-blinds/).

## Let’s Talk the Unit Replacement

Once the joinery type and glass measurement are relayed, the unit and control option are recommended.
