# Ceiling Pleated Blind

The tension-wired form working on the horizontal plane. The shading system of glass roofs and winter gardens.

## A Blind Working Against Gravity

On a vertical blind the fabric’s weight helps the system. On the ceiling gravity turns enemy. The fabric wants to leave the glass and sag. The ceiling pleated solves this problem with a tension-wire system .

Steel wires passing under the fabric hold it taut between two rails. The result: the blind works as a flat surface parallel to the glass even on the horizontal plane. A straight cover when open, a slim bunch in the headrail when closed.

## How Does the Tensioning System Work?

Two steel wires pass through the fabric’s edges and are tensioned against each other. While the moving bar draws the fabric, the wires preserve the plane — the fabric loses its form neither when gathering upward nor when open.

On wide roof surfaces the system is split into sections. Each bay works independently with its own fabric and tensioning; the wanted zone is opened and closed separately.

### System Values

Technical build of the ceiling form

 System

- Tensioning Holds the fabric on the plane: Steel Wire Pair

 Material

- Fabric Weight is critical on the horizontal: Lightweight Pleated

 Mounting

- Headrail Fixed to frame or beam: Ceiling Profile

- Control According to reach height: Rod/Motor

 Fit

- Plane The guide layout adapts to the angle: Horizontal + Slope

 System

- Division Split operation on wide roofs: Single/Sectioned

## Ceiling-Glass Scenarios

Three situations where the ceiling form is a must.

### Winter-Garden Cover

Cuts the sun overhead on horizontal or lightly sloped glass roofs. Balances the indoor temperature.

### Roof Window (Skylight)

Follows the glass on windows seated in the roof plane. Blackout fabric options available.

### Glass-Ceilinged Spaces

Covers wide surfaces on verandas, showrooms and courtyard roofs with single or sectioned fabric.

## Questions About the Ceiling Pleated Blind

Doesn’t the fabric sag on the ceiling?

The tension-wire system pulls the fabric from both ends and keeps it planar. Even on the horizontal the fabric tracks a line parallel to the glass — no sagging.

How is a high ceiling reached?

There is manual operation with an extension rod or a motorised control option. Motorised is recommended for regular use.

Does it work on a sloped roof too?

It works with the tensioning system on horizontal planes and up to a defined slope. The guide layout is adjusted to the angle.

Does it prevent heat build-up?

Cutting the sun under a glass roof with reflective fabric contributes to reducing the spread of rising hot air into the interior.

The atrium and roof-glass scenarios where the horizontal plane mounts are given in the [roof-window application](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/roof-window-pleated-blind/); angled slopes work on the [sloped system](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/sloped-pleated-blind/).

## Quote for Roof Glass

Once the glass measurement, slope and reach height are relayed, the tensioning and control layout is recommended.
