A zebra is double-layered — light is graded by the passing stripes without opening the blind: sheer and blind in one body. Roller for the classic, zebra for flexibility. Does blackout give total darkness? The blackout weave blocks the light entirely; leakage only comes from side gaps. For total darkness we also consider the interior zip screen — the side-channel model has no edge leakage. Which mechanism is safe in a home with children? Two ways. On the chain model the wall-fixed retainer is used as standard; on spring and motorised systems there is no hanging cord at all. Motorised or spring models are recommended for nurseries. Does a motorised blind connect to a smart home? Yes. The tubular motor works with remote, button and scenario systems. A timer and sun sensor can be added; synchronised lifting across multiple blinds is possible. What is the difference between screen fabric and zebra?
