# Insect Screen Systems

From mesh to profile, corner to gasket — an insect screen is not just a frame; it is a system that works through its components.

## Insect Screen Components

All nine insect screen models are different arrangements of the same four components — mesh, profile, connectors and sealing.

### Mesh

Fiberglass (18×16 mesh) is the standard; PetScreen for pets, Poll-tex for pollen, stainless steel for security and moisture resistance.

### Aluminium Profile

6063-alloy profile series. White, brown, anthracite, anodised — plus custom colours from the RAL chart.

### Corners and Connectors

Corner keys, handles and connecting elements. They keep the frame square and the mesh tensioned.

### Gasket and Brush

The sealing component closing the micro gap between frame and joinery — brings insect entry down to zero.

## Insect Screen Models in the System

Nine different working styles of the same components. Where it is mounted and how it opens determines the model.

Working style and ideal use of insect screen system models
Model — Working Style — Ideal Use
Fixed — Removable frame — Windows, seldom-opened openings
Hinged — Hinged sash — Doors, frequent passage, outward-opening windows
Roller — Spring-gathered mesh — Windows wanting a minimal look
Sliding — Panel sliding on a rail — Sliding rails and glass balconies
Cat Screen — Framed, pet screen mesh — Homes with pets
Caravan Insect Screen — Framed compact — Caravan and mobile doors
Steel Insect Screen — Stainless steel weave — Ground floor, security and durability
Recess-Mounted — Sits inside the joinery — Windows with exterior shutters or railings
Surface-Mounted — Mounted to the outer face — Joinery with no inner depth
Motorised — Remote-controlled opening — High and hard-to-reach openings

## Mesh Types

- Fiberglass — the residential standard. Flexible, UV-resistant, the highest view clarity
- PetScreen — sturdy polyester. Resistant to pet scratching
- Poll-tex — densely woven. Pollen and fine-particle filter
- Stainless steel — grade 304. Security, sea moisture and long durability

## Profile and Selection Notes

- 6063-alloy aluminium profile — light, rust-free, paintable
- Custom colour from the RAL chart — exact match with the joinery
- Hinged or sliding for frequently passed doors, fixed model for seldom-used windows
- Recess-mounted profile for windows with exterior shutters — invisible from outside

## Questions About the Insect Screen System

Which mesh suits which use?

Fiberglass mesh is the residential standard — flexible, UV-resistant and keeps the view clear. PetScreen for pets, Poll-tex for allergy sensitivity, stainless steel weave for security or sea moisture is recommended.

In which colours are insect screen profiles produced?

White, brown and anthracite with anodised are the standard colours; custom production in every RAL colour is done with powder coating.

Is the fixed insect screen removed for winter?

Yes. With its clip-on structure it can be removed and stored without tools — mounted again when the season comes.

Which model is recommended for cats?

Any model using PetScreen-reinforced mesh is suitable. The cat screen model is produced with sturdy vinyl-coated mesh for exactly this purpose.

The application conditions of clip-on, screwed, hinged and railed connections are covered in detail on the [Insect Screen Installation Types](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/insect-screen-installation-types/) page.

## Let Us Choose the System Together

Once the joinery type and usage goal are shared, the right model–mesh match is recommended.
