# Kindergarten Pleated Blind

Pleated blind in the kindergarten. Classroom, cafeteria and play-area windows produced in one project; nap-time blackout and cordless safe control.

## Kindergarten Analysis

The kindergarten window has two critical jobs. Darkening the classroom at nap time and a safe control the child cannot reach. With its blackout fabric the pleated blind keeps the room dark. The cordless push-pull model removes the cord risk. On the classroom glass daylight remains, the street movement softens.

### Nap-Time Blackout

At the noon nap the classroom darkens with the blind. The child’s rest environment remains from the lit glass.

### Cordless Safety

The push-pull handle model carries no cord. The reachable-cord risk is removed completely.

### Classroom Daylight

At play and lesson time the blind stays open. The semi-transparent fabric softens the street movement, distraction decreases.

### Sturdy Structure

Where the child makes contact, the blind stays fixed in the rail channel. No loose part pulling and sagging.

## Nap-Time Blackout and Safety in the Kindergarten

In the kindergarten the blind’s most critical job is the noon-nap blackout. The sleep room fully darkening directly affects the small age group’s sleep. The [blackout-fabric pleated blind](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/blackout-pleated-blinds/) also cuts the edge leakage with the [side-channel rail](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/cased-pleated-blind/). At play time the unit opens, the classroom returns to natural light. No separate drape layer is needed.

Safety is non-negotiable in the preschool institution. A free cord loop carries risk; [cordless push-pull control](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/pleated-blind-systems/) is a must. On the unit’s corner and edge there is no sharp metal part. All connections within the child’s reach are hidden and fixed.

The dense cleaning routine is also accounted for. The classroom surface is wiped daily. The blind fabric must withstand the same routine. The pleated fabric wiped with a damp cloth suits this tempo. The classroom count is converted into a unit table, produced in a single project.

In the cafeteria and the play hall the rule does not change. In the steamy cafeteria section moisture-series fabric is taken, in the play area an impact-resistant unit. The classrooms and the common areas are produced in the same project from a single list.

The institution’s colourful world affects the blind too. In the kindergarten [printed and colourful fabric](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/textured-pleated-blinds/) is taken often. It is accounted for that the print changes the light passage. A print on a dark ground increases the daytime darkening, no extra-layer need remains at nap time.

The sleep-room order is the institution’s daily rhythm. At the noon nap all units lower, at waking they open in a single pass. The staff routine drops to two moves. Classroom-based management, not child-based.

In the summer camp and the nursery the blind sees seasonal maintenance. The summer holiday is the closed period preserving the fabric’s UV life. At the season opening the rail channel is wiped, it works regularly all year.

At activity time the blind position is a teaching tool. At story time the half position builds a dim environment, at play time the fully open unit releases the natural light. The teacher manages the classroom’s mood with the unit position.

The garden view from the classroom glass distracts. On the façade facing the play area the bottom band closes at lesson time, the garden movement is cut. At garden time the unit opens.

At the parent handover hour the classroom glass is an observation window. The half-positioned band partly shows the classroom’s inside. At full view the unit opens. On fixed film and frosted glass there is no such flexibility.

The kitchen and cafeteria section is produced separately from the classroom unit. The moisture-series fabric withstands the food steam; the standard series is not used in this area. In a single project three fabric series are cut together.

Application Notes

## Mounting & Selection for Kindergarten

### Child Safety

The cordless model is the standard choice in the kindergarten. If corded, a wall-fixed safe holder is fitted.

### Sleep Fabric

At nap time blackout fabric is recommended. The classroom’s usage hour gives the selection.

### Cleaning Programme

At the hygiene standard wipeable fabric is taken. It suits the daily cleaning routine.
