# Pleated Blind Installation Types

Pleated-blind mounting is done with five different connections. The same housing and fabric. Only the way of holding to the joinery changes. And that form decides the blind's life.

## Five Mounting Types

Each type is explained in detail on a separate page. With the method, the ideal use and the measuring notes.

## Mounting Types Comparison

The five connections' method, drilling state and ideal use side by side.

Pleated-blind mounting types' method, drilling and use comparison
Type — Connection — Drilling — Ideal Use
Screwed — A screw to the joinery — Yes — Heavy use, wide glazing, permanent application
Adhesive — Industrial double-sided tape — No — Rental home, joinery not wanted drilled
Hooked — A metal hook to the glazing bead — No — Glass balcony, snap-off convenience
Glazing-Bead — Seats into the glazing-bead channel — No — Integrated look, roof window
Bracketed — L-bracket to wall/ceiling — Yes to wall, no to joinery — Wide opening, joinery-free application

## Questions About Pleated-Blind Mounting

Which mounting type is the firmest?

The screwed connection provides the highest carrying and permanence. First choice for wide glazing and heavy daily use. Thin screw marks remain on the joinery.

Which type is right on a glass balcony?

On folding glass balconies the hooked type works drill-free and safely. On balconies having insulated glazing and profileless sashes the adhesive and slim-housing combination is the only suitable method.

How much does adhesive mounting carry?

Industrial tape carries safely at standard window sizes. On very wide or frequently used glazing a screw or bracket is the more right choice. The surface being clean and dry decides the adhesion life.

What is the difference between bracketed and screwed?

In the screwed one the housing holds to the joinery and opens together with the sash. In the bracketed one the blind sits on fittings fixed to wall or ceiling. The joinery is not touched at all, the window opens independently.

Fabric classes and the system architecture are covered on the [Pleated Blind Systems](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/pleated-blind-systems/) page; the venues the connection is applied to are gathered on the [application areas](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/pleated-blind-application-areas/) page, and the measurement-based budget is produced on the [calculator](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/pleated-blind-price-calculator/) page.

## Price by Mounting Type

Once the window's photo and the measurement info are conveyed the installation form and the fabric class are recommended.
