# Roof-Window Honeycomb Blind

Honeycomb blind on the roof window: cell fabric tensioned on the horizontal plane, roof lighting filtering daylight and heat control are provided together.

## Roof Window Analysis

The roof window is the hardest plane: on the horizontal glass gravity pulls the fabric down, the free system is fully functionless. Honeycomb works from two ends [with the tensioned order](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/ceiling-honeycomb-blind/) — the fabric stays straight horizontally too, filtering daylight from the ceiling. On the roof glass taking the densest heat in summer, the cell buffer directly cuts the heat.

### Horizontal Order

The fabric tensioned from two ends works straight on the ceiling plane too; no sagging.

### Daylight

The natural light entering from the roof is filtered diffuse; the room brightness is preserved, the glare is cut.

### Heat Cut

The roof glass is the hottest plane in summer; the cell air brakes the heat before entering the room.

### Remote Control

When there is no ceiling access the motorised variant is the only solution; the hand extension rod is its alternative.

## The Horizontal Glass’s Buffer

This page is for the space decision: is honeycomb the right choice on the roof window? The mechanism, rail and configuration options of the two-end-tensioned mechanism are detailed on the [roof honeycomb system page](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/ceiling-honeycomb-blind/).

The roof window is natural lighting’s most efficient source but at the same time the densest heat entry. Honeycomb works horizontally with the two-end-tensioned order; the cell air brakes the heat at the glass line before entering the room.

The access issue is real: if the roof glass cannot be reached by hand the motorised order is a must. The manual variant with an extension rod works at reachable height.

In the sleep and study volume wanting blackout the opaque variant cuts the daytime light; the diffuse variant preserves the lighting.

Application Notes

## Mounting & Selection for Roof Window

### Two-Ended Order

Horizontally the fabric is carried with tensioning from two directions; the single-sided system does not work horizontally.

### Motorised

On the high roof glass a motor is a must; at a low position an extension rod is sufficient.

### Blackout

The opaque variant in the volume wanting blackout; the diffuse variant for lighting.

### Case Measurement

The roof-window brand decides the profile choice; the measurement is taken from the case.
