# Shipping & Delivery

Packaging, dispatch and delivery: production vs transit time, freight cost, damage notification, international delivery, and customs sharing.

Last updated: October 2026

## 1. Packaging

Every finished product leaves in dedicated packaging so it is not damaged in transit. For [knock-down orders](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/finished-and-knock-down-shipment/), the parts list, connectors and instructions are included separately. The package is matched to the [order card](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/quality-control/) and closed.

## 2. Distinguishing the Timescales

Production time and transit time are two separate quantities. Production time starts once product approval and payment terms are complete; it is stated in the quotation according to the order content and line load. Transit time is the period after the package is handed to the carrier and depends on the carrier's performance.

No delivery-date promise is made. Timescales are shared as estimated windows. When the tracking number is issued it is sent to the buyer. For dealer orders, production and shipment status is followed on the dealer panel.

## 3. Freight Cost and Delivery Method

The freight cost is shown in the quotation on a per-order basis. Its scope — delivery to the address, ex warehouse, or to the port — is written clearly on the quotation line. Unless the quotation states otherwise:

- Loading the package onto the carrier's vehicle is the sender's responsibility; unloading is the buyer's.
- Carrying to upper floors, manoeuvring in tight spaces and crane work are outside the delivery scope.
- If the address changes or the buyer is not ready, waiting and re-dispatch costs are charged under the carriage contract.

## 4. Package Inspection and Damage or Shortage Notification

On delivery, the number of packages is counted against the dispatch note. If the packaging is torn, crushed or wet, a report is made with the carrier's representative. A notification to info@fenetresystems.com with a photo of the report speeds up the review and resolution.

If damage or a missing part is found, the order record is checked upon notification with photographs. If the problem is in production, the part is remade; if in transit, it is resupplied. Late notification or lack of a report makes proof harder — which is why inspection at the moment of delivery matters.

## 5. International Delivery and Customs

FENETRE Systems products are delivered to an address in every country in the world. The sender carries out the export procedure. The import procedures in the buyer's country — customs declaration, import duties, VAT and customs brokerage — belong to the buyer.

- Export documents travel with the shipment: invoice, packing list and, where required, the transport document.
- If the destination country requires additional documents, this is settled in writing before dispatch.
- Taxes and charges in the buyer's country are settled in writing on a per-order basis.
- Incoterms — EXW, DAP, DDP, etc. — are selected in the quotation and written into the contract.

Customs delays are not counted within transit time. In that case the situation is shared with the buyer through the tracking record.
