# Store Pleated Blind

Pleated blind in the store. Behind-window order, fitting-room and storage privacy plus interior closure after closing. Fits the corporate brand standard fully.

## Store Analysis

The store’s display window is open to the customer but the stock room, the fitting room and the back of the till must stay invisible. The pleated blind builds this separation on partition glass and interior windows. At closing the interior fully separates from the street view. Behind the display glass a shade layer is built without disturbing the product backdrop.

### Behind-Window Order

On the display glass’s inner surface the pleated blind tidies the back of the exhibited products. The messy interior view is cut.

### Fitting-Room Separation

On glass or open fitting-room entrances the blind draws the privacy boundary. In-cabin lighting supports the blind.

### Storage and Till Back

On glazed partitions separating the sales area from the service area, the blind separates the stock and till section from the customer view.

### Post-Closing Security

After the store closes, the interior being seen from the street is prevented. The inside is closed while the display stays open.

## Separately Managing the Window, Fitting Room and Storage Gaps in the Store

In the retail space the blind does not do a single job. The window turns daylight into display, the fitting room wants privacy, the storage must stay invisible from outside. The pleated blind solves these three conditions with different fabrics of the same family. On the window a [semi-transparent](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/sheer-pleated-blinds/), in the fitting room blackout, on the service gap an opaque series is used.

The look of the closed blind on the display glass is also part of the design. Since the unit profile is slim it does not split the display when open. At closing the window fully closes and the interior closes to the night view. This is an order also chosen for security.

The reason a blind is chosen instead of a door in the fitting room is space and cost. The pleated blind covering the cabin entrance closes fully without a door mechanism. The open-close duration is short. Fabric and rail suitable for heavy use are taken. The daily open-close count is far above a home’s.

The store’s open-close routine is built with the blind. In the morning the window units open in one pass. At closing they lower fully. The units are kept at the same height, the façade looks orderly. This routine is a few minutes’ work for the staff.

In the seasonal campaign the window order changes. Since the pleated unit stays behind the window, mannequin and shelf changes do not affect it. When the [concept](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/printed-pleated-blinds/) changes, the fabric is renewed without the rail being removed. The unit infrastructure is permanent.

In a mall store, fire regulations and rules limit the blind type. On the façade opening to the corridor, a band leaving a view share may be wanted instead of full closure. Whether the store is inside the mall or on the street is written in the project and the order is built accordingly.

The storage and staff area is not on the same façade as the window. On the glass opening to the service corridor an opaque series is used, on the glass facing the sales area a semi-transparent series. Since the fabric family is common, a single look remains on the façade.

In a mall store the façade is the corridor side. Since the corridor light stays on constantly, the window unit can be kept closed even by day. In a street store daylight is the window’s natural light. The position rule is written differently for the two business types.

The night closing binds the blind to the security order. At closing the units lower fully and the interior is cut from the street view. While the alarm is activated, the unit position enters the checklist. In the morning the window becomes visible with a single move.

The security-camera angle must not clash with the unit. If a closed band stands on the line the camera looks at, the view is cut. This line is marked on the [mounting](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/pleated-blind-installation-types/) plan; the unit is kept below the camera or on the side partition.

Application Notes

## Mounting & Selection for Store

### Brand Standard

In chain stores the same fabric code and profile tone is used across branches. Production runs over the centrally approved sample.

### Display Fabric

For display use a series passing light but softening the image is taken. Blackout fabric breaks the display’s light balance.

### Commercial Mechanism

In spaces with a high open-close count a commercial-series mechanism is a must. Residential hardware does not hold.
