# Vertical Duette Blind

The core double-layer arrangement travelling up-and-down. The standard window’s insulated reference.

## How Does the Vertical Double Layer Work?

The duette line’s most classic operating form.

The double-layer panel descends from the top rail; control cords or a spring balance hold the panel at every height. It stays where released — works half, quarter or fully open.

In the closed position two nested cells raise a double pocket on the glass plane; in a room facing the outer façade the glass line’s heat loss slows with two buffers.

Daylight enters passing through two fabric layers; even harsh midday sun reaches the room soft and diffused — no glare lines form.

## Standout Parts of the System

Top rail, vertical double-layer panel and cord arrangement are the system’s identity.

- Vertical Descent The double-layer panel travels top-down — the double-cell form of classic blind behaviour.
- Double Pocket Vertical In the vertical position the nested cells raise two buffer layers along the glass.
- Soft Filtering Daylight passing through two fabric layers enters the room diffused, without glare.
- Slim Gather A bundle of a few centimetres up top; the view barely splits.
- Made to Measure Exact production for standard and wide windows.

## Who Is the Vertical Duette For?

Rooms wanting cover + heat break + soft light on a standard window.

In the bedroom it does three jobs at once: darkness with blackout fabric, a brake on the glass’s chill with nested cells, and a soft morning wake-up through two-layer filtering.

In living and work rooms screen glare is balanced by light filtering through two layers; the loss on the exterior glass slows with the double buffer.

On sloped, ceiling or sliding openings the direction changes — move to the ceiling, sloped or horizontal variants. For the lightweight single-cell alternative the [vertical honeycomb blind](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/vertical-honeycomb-blind/) is described on a separate page.

## Frequently Asked

Is it cordless?

Hand-positioned cordless is standard; a chain or motor is added on select models.

What does the double cell add in a standard room?

In bedroom and living room it slows the heat loss on the glass line with two buffer layers; light filters through the two layers and enters softly.

Does it fit a narrow window?

Rail depth is on the centimetre scale; it seats on narrow windows with inside-casing and transom mounting.

Can it fully darken?

Darkness is given with the blackout fabric option; the double-layer fabric itself cuts the light twice.

The sliding-door and façade types where the vertical double layer mounts are listed in the [application areas](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/duette-blind-application-areas/); its horizontal counterpart is described on the [horizontal model](https://www.fenetresystems.com/en/horizontal-duette-blind/).
