# Wall-Mounted Venetian Blind

Wall-mounted Venetian blind — the headrail screws to the wall above the window. Overhang share and the method of rail-less openings.

## The Wall-Mounting Order

If the level and the axis are given right the rest is connection work.

1. **The height level is read** — The line the rail will sit on is measured from above the window and a horizontal line is drawn to the two ends.
2. **The bracket marks are marked** — The connection points are divided along the rail length; the mechanism and the control side are left free.
3. **The plugging is done** — Plugs descend to the marked points. On a plastered wall the plug length is chosen to exceed the plaster thickness.
4. **The rail is closed in place** — The brackets are screwed, the headrail is locked. Chain and wand access is tested last.

## The Advantage of the Above-Window Plane

A rail mounted on the wall leaves the window recess free. On windows whose depth is insufficient, whose sashes open inward or which carry double joinery, the wall is the only plane that can work.

Since the rail stands on the wall the blind measurement is grown beyond the joinery. The overhang share added to both sides reduces edge light leak; the share is settled at the measuring stage.

## Overhang Share and Rail Position

On a wall the measurement is not the joinery measurement. Shares and the level are decided together.

Overhang share, top level and clash checks in wall mounting
Decision — Application — Reason
Side overhang — Equal share to both sides — Edge light leak decreases
Top level — The rail covers the window top — The joinery line becomes invisible
Sash clash — Distance to the inward-opening sash — The sash opens without touching the blind
Wall ground — A solid wall is sought — A plug on plaster alone does not carry

## The Wall's State at Removal

The plug holes opened on the wall remain at removal and are closed with filler. It is not as invisible as inside a recess; the mark is on an open surface.

In tenant use wall mounting is not done without asking. In the scenario not wanting drilling, the curtain-rail adapter or on-joinery set-up is evaluated.

## Questions About Wall-Mounted Venetian Blind

How many plugs does a Venetian take on a wall?

It varies by the rail length and weight. The two ends are fixed, middle points are added to a wide rail. The exact distribution is given in the scheme arriving with the rail.

Does a plug hold on a plastered wall?

The plug length must pass the plaster layer and reach the solid ground. A shallow plug loosens over time and sags the rail.

How is the decision between wall and recess given?

If the recess is deep and the sashes are no obstacle, inside the recess looks cleaner. If there is no depth or the sash opens inward, the wall is the right answer.

Once the wall share and the window form are shared the overhang and level calculation is done.
