Closed Venetian blinds with black headrail — a sea view through the slat gaps

Venetian Blinds

The slat tilt is set by the user. The light stays at the angle you want.

What Is a Venetian Blind?

A Venetian blind is a blind in which horizontal slats strung on ladder-braid cords have their tilt angle set by a headrail mechanism. The slats rotate ~180°, directing light and controlling the view — the stepless adjustment a fabric curtain cannot give.

The perforated aluminium slat has a separate function. Micro holes pass daylight but cut the sightline — the outside is seen while the inside stays hidden. That is why it is the standard on office and façade floors.

Material Comparison

The three materials side by side by slat size, humidity resistance and ideal space. The model name at the row start leads to the product detail.

From Measurement to Fitting

Slat size and material are chosen with the window ratio. The process finishes in four steps.

  1. 01

    Window Measurement

The window net measurement and a joinery photo are enough. Sent requests are merged into one file.

  2. 02

    Material and Slat Chosen

Aluminium, wood or fabric, at 16/25/50 mm. The window ratio decides.

  3. 03

    Slats Strung

The headrail is assembled and the slats are strung. The delivery date is settled at quote approval.

  4. 04

    Fitting or Courier

Fitting is done by the crew within the service boundary. For out-of-town addresses, a pack with installation video ships.

All mechanism varieties and mounting bond options are explained per surface on the Venetian Blind Installation Types page; the places the series are fitted are shown under application areas.

  • 180° Tilt ControlThe slats rotate steplessly. They direct the light and set the view angle.
  • Child SafetyThe continuous chain loop leaves no hanging cord. Ships with a wall-fixed retainer.
  • Motorised OptionHeight and slat angle by remote. Comfort on high glazing.

Questions About Venetian Blinds

How is the slat size chosen?
There are three standards: 16 mm for narrow joinery and door glazing, 25 mm balanced for general use, 50 mm on the wooden model and wide windows. The choice is made together according to the window ratio.
Which Venetian is used in humid rooms?
Aluminium is preferred in bathrooms and kitchens — it does not rust, is unaffected by humidity and wipes clean. Wooden slats warp in humidity and belong in living areas.
Is the light control really precise?
The slats tilt ~180°. Light is directed to the ceiling, the floor or eye level. With perforated aluminium slats you can see out without showing the inside.
Can a Venetian blind be motorised?
Yes. Height and slat angle are controlled separately by remote. On heavy wood and 50 mm slats, a geared chain also reduces the pulling force.
How do I clean a Venetian blind?
Slats are wiped one by one with a static duster or a slightly damp cloth. On the aluminium model there is no fear of water; on wood, a nearly dry cloth is used rather than a damp one.
How do I send measurements?
By message, call or the form — all three channels are gathered in the same file. The net opening and a window photo are enough. The slat size is chosen together according to the window ratio.
