Pleated Blinds

The mounting type defines the model. It is fitted the way the joinery allows.

What Is a Pleated Blind?

A pleated blind is an interior blind in which a single layer of polyester fabric works by folding like an accordion. Its cordless build both keeps the look clean and is a safety advantage in homes with children. It is pushed from the handle and stays where it is left.

In this family, the difference is not the fabric — it is the mounting. Screwed for permanent, adhesive for no-drill, glazing-bead for inside the bead, and hook for glass balconies. The selection guide below ties your situation to the right mounting detail.

Mounting Types Compared

Drilling requirement, removal ease and glass-balcony suitability in one table. Touching the type in a row opens its mounting detail.

  • Green. Advantageous — no drilling, easy removal, compatible
  • Amber. Conditional — drilling required or partially applicable
  • — does not apply in this scenario

Glass-balcony suitability is for folding glass systems; adhesive and glazing-bead options are also assessed on insulated-glass profiles.

Light Transmission Classes

The same rail comes in three fabric classes. The model is set by mounting; the atmosphere, by fabric.

  • 70–90% light pass

    Sheer/Transparent

Softens daylight, keeps the view out. Airiness in living areas.

Order Process

The joinery sets the mounting type. It starts with the glass measurement and is settled with the quote.

  1. 01

    Glass Measurement

The glass or glazing-bead measurement and a photo of the joinery are enough. Sent details are handled under a single record.

  2. 02

    Mounting Type Chosen

Screw, adhesive, glazing-bead, hook or bracket. The bond the joinery allows is settled.

  3. 03

    Fabric Pleated

The pleated fabric is produced with fold memory and set on the headrail. The lead time is stated on the order.

  4. 04

    Fitting or Self-Fit Pack

Within the service area, the install crew fits on site. For other cities, a self-fit pack ships by courier.

  • Cordless OperationNo hanging cord. Safe in homes with children; pushed and pulled from the handle.
  • Top-Down/Bottom-UpDrop from the top, lift from the bottom. Cuts the street view while the sky stays open.
  • Millimetric CutCut to the glazing-bead measurement. Edge gaps stay minimal.

Questions About Pleated Blinds

Can a pleated blind be fitted without drilling?
Yes. The adhesive, glazing-bead and hook models fit without drilling the joinery and leave no mark when removed. This is the right option for tenants.
Which model suits a glass balcony?
The hook model hangs on the folding glass system; the blind folds with the glass leaf. Adhesive can also be applied on insulated-glass profiles. Stating the joinery type is enough.
Does a blackout pleated blind really darken?
The fabric blocks the light entirely; light can only leak through edge gaps. Glazing-bead mounting minimises edge leakage — the right match for bedrooms wanting total darkness.
How do I clean a pleated blind?
A soft brush or slightly damp cloth between the folds is enough. Washing machines and irons break the fold memory — do not use them.
What does Top-Down/Bottom-Up mean?
The blind moves both top-down and bottom-up. The body can be covered at street level while the sky stays open — privacy and light together.
How critical is measuring accuracy?
The glazing-bead measurement is taken to the millimetre. Too large will not fit; too small leaks light at the edges. Once the glass size and joinery photo arrive via any channel, the record is gathered in one file — measuring is re-checked in production.
Does a motorised pleated blind run on batteries?
Battery or wired options exist depending on the model type. A remote is the only practical solution on out-of-reach high glass. It is settled by mounting type at the quote stage.
