FENETRE Systems — Insect Screen and Pleated Blind Systems

Plain Pleated Blinds

The base blind made in single-colour, unpatterned pleated fabric — a plain surface blending with joinery and wall, a wide swatch, made to measure.

Plain pleated blinds are the simplest option, in an unpatterned single-colour fabric. The single-layer fabric folds like an accordion, stays wherever it is left, and its cord-free build is safe in homes with children. The colour swatch is wide — the standard choice for anyone wanting a surface that blends with joinery and walls without tiring the eye.

The strength of plain fabric

A fabric carrying no pattern puts the interior’s own decisions forward. The plain pleated surface integrates with wall, furniture and joinery without clashing — the room’s identity is set by the room itself, not by a fabric pattern.

The single-colour swatch is wide — white, cream, grey, anthracite and earth tones are picked from the same card for homes and corporate projects alike. Matching the joinery colour or a deliberate contrast are both viable routes.

Light transmission changes with fabric thickness — within the same plain series there are sheer, semi-blackout and blackout textures. The look stays the same while the function is chosen per room.

The accordion fold looks tidiest on a flat surface. Since the fabric folds carry no pattern, the fold lines produce the rhythm on their own — a clean geometry without needing gathers or extra pleats.

In offices and meeting areas plain fabric is the corporate choice — the unpatterned surface does not scatter attention, can be matched to the brand colour and repeats the same look across a multi-window façade.

Measurement, installation and daily use

A plain pleated blind mounts on the joinery or the glazing bead — the joinery’s inner face for in-frame fitting, the wall or bead for bracket fitting. The measurement type is taken according to the installation decision.

The cord-balanced system holds the fabric at any position — it is pulled up and down by hand and stays where it is released. The cord-free build is the basic safety requirement in homes with children.

Top-down and bottom-up opening options exist — in the one-way system the fabric gathers at the top; in the two-way system the window’s middle band can be left free while privacy is preserved.

Cleaning is done dry or lightly damp — dust held inside the folds is lifted with a soft brush. Wiping is planned by fabric type, and the fold form is preserved.

Fabric replacement is done while keeping the mechanism — a worn fabric or one being renewed is taken off the rail and a new one fitted. The rail and cord system stays in place.

Plain pleated, room by room

In living rooms and lounges the plain pleated blind stays in the background — where furniture and accessories lead, the fabric becomes the quiet surface. Choosing a light colour keeps the interior airy.

In bedrooms the plain blackout series is used — the same plain look also delivers the night-time condition. A single fabric picked from the swatch carries both the aesthetics and the function.

In kitchens and bathrooms a plain wipeable fabric is chosen — it demands less maintenance than a patterned fabric amid steam and splashes. The flat surface does not show stains and wipes quickly.

On narrow and small windows plain fabric enlarges the room — the visual load of a patterned fabric creates a cramped feel on a small surface, while the plain surface makes the window look wider than it is.

On multi-window façades the plain series keeps the rhythm — a fabric with no pattern repeat produces the same calm surface across ten windows. Façade integrity comes from being unpatterned.
