Duette Blinds

The double-layer form of the honeycomb. Two separate air cushions, solid insulation.

What Is a Duette Blind?

A Duette blind is a cellular blind produced from double-layer cellular fabric. Seen from the side, two back-to-back rows of hexagons are visible. Air is trapped in two pockets — delivering a stronger thermal barrier and softer light filtering than the single layer.

Its working logic is the same as the honeycomb blind. The headrail, rail and mounting architecture are shared — the difference is in the fabric layers. The comparison table puts the two families side by side.

Duette or Honeycomb?

Two families in the same table. The decision is in the fabric layers.

Both families use the same headrail and mounting architecture. The difference is only in the fabric layers.

Mounting Types

Duette fabric sits with five connection styles. The mounting detail is shown when hovering the relevant row.

Bracket-Mounted Duette BlindYesMediumFrameless areas. The headrail is carried to the façade plane
  • Green. No-drill or easy-removal mounting
  • Amber. Drilling required or removal is laborious

On skylight applications, carrying safety takes priority over removal ease — motorised and screw-mounted are preferred.

Duette Fabric Classes

Three light-transmission levels. All are double layer — the difference is how much light the lining cuts.

  • Diffused light

    Transparent Duette

Double-layer transparent. Harsh daylight passes through two fabrics and spreads evenly across the room.

    Transmission
    High — shadowless brightness
    Privacy
    Partial by day
    Ideal for
    Living room, work area
  • Balanced

    Semi-Opaque (Dimout)

A double layer gently cutting the light. The silhouette is invisible, the room does not darken.

    Transmission
    Medium — cuts the silhouette
    Privacy
    Full
    Ideal for
    Bedroom and living room
  • Full blackout

    Blackout Duette

A light-proof lined double layer. The cell air also reduces leakage — the strongest barrier.

    Transmission
    Near zero
    Privacy
    Full
    Ideal for
    Sleeping room and conservatory

All three classes are produced with the same double-layer cell architecture. The lining sets blackout success; the mounting type sets edge leakage.

Duette in Four Steps

The decision for the two-layer fabric starts with the glass measurement and room details.

  1. 01

Tell Us the Glazing and the Room

Bedroom, conservatory or skylight. Measurement and room details from three channels land in one file.

  2. 02

    Layer Decision Made

Duette or honeycomb? Single or double layer is settled with the quote according to need.

  3. 03

    Double Layer Prepared

The Duette fabric is formed to measurement. The delivery window is in the quote.

  4. 04

    On-Site Fitting or Courier

On-site fitting is done by the crew within the service area. For other cities, a pack with installation video ships by courier.

  • Two Air PocketsA double-layer cell. A stronger thermal barrier than the single-layer structure.
  • Soft BrightnessHarsh daylight is filtered through two layers — a diffused brightness remains in the room.
  • Two-End FoldingBottom fixed with a folding top, or both ends meeting in the middle. The skylight solution.

Questions About Duette Blinds

Are Duette and honeycomb blinds the same thing?
Same family, different layers. Honeycomb is a single row of cells; Duette is a double row. In Duette the air is trapped in two pockets — a stronger thermal barrier and softer light filtering. "Duette" is the market name for double-layer cellular fabric.
When is a Duette recommended?
In three scenarios: the bedroom (when blackout and insulation are wanted together), the conservatory (when heat loss through the glass surface is high), and skylights and sloped glazing (when the diffused brightness of the double layer is needed).
Does a Duette blind really darken?
Blackout Duette fabric gives the highest blackout success. The air layer inside the cell also reduces light leakage. The edge gap depends on the mounting type — lowest with glazing-bead fitting.
Can it be made for a skylight?
Yes. The two-end folding structure folds on sloped surfaces too. Because reach is difficult, the motorised model is recommended for ceiling applications.
Does it have an effect on sound transmission?
The double-layer cell structure dampens outside noise better than a single layer. It is not acoustic insulation, but the contribution is felt.
How do I send measurements and room details?
Measurements and room details are sent through three channels — WhatsApp, phone or the quote form — all connected to the same record. The glass measurement is enough. The layer decision is made together according to the use scenario.
