Oval Duette Blind

On oval glass the double-layer honeycomb raises elliptic slices opening from two focal points toward the edge — the elliptic counterpart of the circle’s radial fan. In every slice the nested cells come stacked.

While the fan is closed a double pocket forms over the whole elliptic area; along with the cover, two buffer layers remain on the glass line. The panel is fixed or gathering; gathered, the oval line frees itself.

On over-door transoms and classic oval windows the cover tracks the geometry; a rectangular blind would leave gaps at the oval’s edges while the elliptic fan wraps the form itself.

On a transom’s oval glass the elliptic fan rests above the form; while covering the doorway’s architectural detail the double cell raises a buffer on the glass line.

On the oval windows of villas and historic buildings the cover is solved only with an elliptic fan; the double layer keeps working behind the glass even on a fixed fan.
