Vertical Pleated Blind
The form with vertically running pleats that gathers to the side. The blind answer for wide façades and passage axes.
Operating Principle
The whole opening in three steps. Rail, fabric, bunch.
- 01
The Rail Is Installed
The top and bottom rails are fixed to the two edges of the opening. The carrier bar seats inside the rail.
- 02
The Fabric Opens
When the carrier bar is drawn, the vertically pleated fabric builds a straight blind surface along the rail.
- 03
It Bunches to the Side
Pushed back, the fabric folds like an accordion and stands as a slim bundle at the edge.
Gathering Directions
Which side the fabric bunches to is defined by the façade layout.
| Direction | Operation | Ideal Use |
|---|---|---|
| Single Direction | The fabric gathers to the right or the left | Façades with free space beside the wall |
| Double Direction | Two panels meet in the middle | Symmetrical look, very wide openings |
| Free Stance | The bar holds at the position wanted | Partial shade. Part of the glass stays clear |
Wide-Opening Scenarios
Three situations where the vertical form makes a difference.
Sliding Doors
It works in the same direction as the passage axis. As the door opens the blind slides aside too.
Wide Glass Façades
A single fabric cover over a floor-to-ceiling glass surface, with no vertical division.
Room Divider
A flexible boundary between two spaces. A bunch when open, a wall when closed.
Questions About the Vertical Pleated Blind
Is the vertical pleated blind a different product from the vertical slat blind?
How wide can it be made?
How much room does the gathered bunch take?
Can it be used as a room divider?
The sliding-door and façade types where the vertical form mounts are listed in the application areas; its horizontally gathering counterpart is compared on the horizontal model.
Quote with Vertical Measurements
Once the façade width and passage direction are relayed, the gathering layout and rail option are recommended.
