Cased Duette Blind

Enclosed cased double-layer arrangement with side rails. The tightest form collecting darkening and insulation in one body.

How Does the Cased Double Layer Work?

The enclosed rail covers the edge; nested cells wrap the glass plane.

In the cased system the double-layer honeycomb travels up and down inside side channels; the rail is both guide and closure. The edge gap is covered by the rail — the only line seen from outside is the cassette and rail.

The closure produces two performances: edge light leak falls to the lowest allowance, and the air current around the two nested cells is braked so the barrier turns unbroken. On the open-edged arrangement the cells are open to air exchange at the edge; in the cased they are not.

The rail profile seats to the joinery’s bead plane or inside the casing; permanent installation is made with screwed mounting.

Standout Parts of the System

Side rail, top cassette and double-layer panel are the system’s identity.

  • Side-Rail ChannelThe double-layer panel travels inside side rails; the edge gap is closed to light and air leaks.
  • Sealed Double PocketEnclosed rail + nested cells raise an unbroken barrier from edge to centre.
  • Fabric ProtectionThe enclosed rail protects the double-layer fabric from side creasing and impact.
  • Steady ClosingThe panel slides on the plane; holds position without sagging or wobbling.
  • Made to MeasureThe rail profile matches the joinery type.

Who Is the Cased Duette For?

Spaces wanting darkening and heat break together.

It is the bedroom’s natural match: the enclosed rail covers the edge lines, the double cell raises two buffers on the glass plane — morning light does not appear as a line, winter-night glass chill does not enter.

In meeting and presentation rooms edge leakage in front of the projection disturbs; the cased system provides visual cleanliness.

On frequently opened windows rail protection shields the fabric from side impact; fabric life lengthens over the open-edged system. For the thin single-cell alternative the cased honeycomb blind is described on a separate page.

Frequently Asked

Does the cased system cut edge light?
Yes — the side rail covers the edge gap; with the dark double layer leakage falls to the lowest level.
Can darkening and insulation go together?
That is the cased duette’s true strength: the enclosed rail covers the edges, two nested cells raise a double buffer on the glass plane — the two unite in one system.
Can it be removed and refitted?
The panel detaches from the rail; the cassette unscrews — not portable, but opens for maintenance.
Vertical or horizontal?
The cased arrangement works vertically; a separate cassette type is used on horizontal sliding systems.
