Gym Pleated Blind

Pleated blind in the gym. Locker-room privacy, mirror-glare control and daylight management on the exterior façade.

Gym Analysis

The gym’s glazed façade is looked into from outside. The member’s workout moment must be protected from the street view. The pleated blind takes light from the top band and cuts the eye level with the bottom band. It builds full privacy on the glazed partition at the locker room and shower entrance. On the window opposite the mirror it cuts the glare.

Member Privacy

On the street-level hall windows the bottom band cuts the outside view. The inside is not visible while members work out.

Mirror Glare

The sun coming from the window opposite the mirror builds reflection. The glare is cut with the blind’s band position.

Locker Room

In locker rooms with glazed partitions or windows the blind provides privacy with full closure. Moisture-suitable fabric is taken.

Timed Opening

Through the day from morning brightness to the evening workout the blind’s band position changes. A motorised scenario is built.

Glazed-Façade and Moisture Management in the Gym

The gym’s glazed façade carries two rival needs. The showcase effect showing the inside’s movement and the shading cutting the sun. With the top band open the pleated blind meets both needs together. While the eye level is closed the interior stays private. The opening at the ceiling line keeps the light.

The locker room and the shower volume carry a different need. Uninterrupted steam and full privacy are required. In this partition moisture-series fabric and the bottom-up model are taken. The top band stays open to light, the eye level closes fully. Since the same unit family is used, the façade integrity is not broken.

The opposite position of the mirror wall and the glass façade is accounted for. The sun reflected from the mirror produces glare making the workout hard. Dim-out fabric breaks the reflection intensity. The unit landing on the mirror line is taken into the priority shade band.

The hall’s usage tempo strains the blind. The vibration in the weight zone and ball contact shakes the unit. The rail holds onto the case line instead of the wall, the vibration does not pass to the structure. On the line with impact risk the unit is kept at the up position.

Tens of units looking the same on a single façade builds the brand order. The band kept at the same position does not break the showcase. The day-night model breaks the street view with the sheer layer by day. In the evening the blackout layer closes the interior.

The hall’s moisture load is also real. The sweat and steam density wants moisture-series fabric. Even if the ventilation is strong, condensation occurs on the glass surface. The wipeable fabric fits the daily maintenance cycle.

At busy hours the façade position is set differently. The morning sun on the east façade and the evening sun on the west façade are the priority shade zones. The position calendar prepared by the façade direction is provided to the staff.

The unit position landing on the mirror wall halves the reflection. If the blind is closed on the mirror line the athlete watches their image uninterrupted. The mirror height is marked on the mounting plan and the band line is set accordingly.

Sweaty-hand contact is the unit’s daily reality. The hand-push control’s surface is taken from wipeable material. In routine cleaning the unit is wiped with disinfectant. The smooth rail surface holds no build-up.

The hall’s opening hour coincides with the early sun. At six in the morning the east façade gives steep light. The band on the treadmill line is drawn to the morning position. The unit position joins the opening routine as a single item.

In a hall where member density fluctuates, the blind position is bound to the shift. At busy hours the façade setting is kept ready. At the noon calm the unit opens and lighting saving is provided with natural light.

Application Notes

Mounting & Selection for Gym

Moisture-Resistant Choice

In the gym’s humid environment the fabric choice is made from the resistant series. In the locker room a wipeable type is recommended.

Reception Control

Under trainer or reception control a motorised system provides timed open-close.

Wide Façade

Hall façades are long glass bands. A blind row looking equal on every window preserves the space’s order.

The Façade Plan Is Drawn
