The width is measured at three points
Three measurements are taken at bottom, middle and top lines; the narrowest value is taken as the base. The frame is never a full rectangle.

The height is read from rebate to ground
It is measured from the top rebate to the line the bottom rail will sit on. On a door the ground line is the reference.

The depth is verified
The inner cavity's share to swallow the frame is measured separately. If there is no depth recess fitting is not forced, surface fitting is recommended.
On Which Joinery Does It Work?
Sufficient inner cavity
A flat plane that swallows the profile inside the frame is needed. If the gap is less than the frame depth the system protrudes to the surface.
Drip-free sash
On joinery having a drip protrusion on the sash outer edge recess fitting cannot be applied. The water channel closes the mounting plane.
Behind-shutter gap
The narrow area between the shutter box and the joinery is the natural mounting place of the 15–18 mm frame series.
Flat and firm inner surface

Where Do Its Limits End?
Recess fitting is not recommended at large sizes. The wider the in-frame gap the more the profile's free opening grows and the tension balance is strained. On wide doors and double openings the right arrangement is surface fitting.
On joinery having no inner cavity the system is not forced into recess fitting. If the jamb share is insufficient the frame cannot be recessed inward and stays protruding. The depth check at measuring makes this decision definite.
