Vibration, Weight and Compact Mounting in the Caravan

The caravan blind works on a moving platform. Road vibration, braking and broken ground constantly tire the unit. A loose rail and a hanging cord that are no problem in a fixed structure are a source of sound and damage in the caravan. The unit works locked inside the rail, the control part grips.

Weight and volume are a direct cost in the caravan. Every gram is load, every centimetre is living area. The pleated blind’s aluminium rail and folding fabric are lighter and slimmer than a roller cassette. It occupies no space above the case. The limited interior height remains.

The mounting surface changes by the joinery manufacturer. The European caravan’s acrylic glass comes with its own case system. The connection hardware is taken per the case type. The acrylic glass’s expansion with heat is accounted for. The hook connection adapts to the glass’s movement. In the toilet and the kitchen the moisture series is taken, in the bed partition blackout.

At the campsite the blind does two jobs. By day it cuts the sun, at night it prevents the camp light showing inside. The day-night model carries two layers in a single unit. It is solved with a single system on the limited wall surface.

Travel safety is written into the plan. The unit is locked in the closed position. The cord is held with the safety band, it does not open at brake shaking. If the window model code is known the connection set is packed ready. On an unknown model, matching is made with the case photograph.

When the neighbouring vehicle parks close at the campsite, privacy gains importance. The sheer layer takes light without showing from outside. If the electricity is limited the blind does not replace the air conditioner but cuts the sun load and balances the interior temperature.

In the seasonal keeping period the unit is kept closed. The fabric is preserved from the sun, the colour liveliness lasts long. At the season start the rail channel and the fabric are checked. Dust and moisture build-up is wiped.

In winter camping the caravan’s interior steam increases. In the heated closed volume the glass surface constantly holds drops. Moisture-series fabric and a night airing gap keep the balance. The unit-glass distance limits the condensation contact.

The caravan kitchen’s steam and grease load is denser than a home’s. In the narrow volume the cooking steam reaches the glass directly. The moisture-series fabric holds its form in this environment, it is wiped weekly with a damp cloth. The kitchen unit is produced with a separate series.
