Motorised Insect Screen
Motorised insect screen. A motor rolls the mesh up into the cassette — it opens and closes by remote control.
- Remote ControlOpen-close from the remote, with stepped stopping.
- Retractable MeshWhen closed the mesh stays inside the cassette.
- Wide OpeningsFits balcony and veranda openings.
Who Is the Motorised Insect Screen For?
- Wide Balcony
- Veranda
- High Window
- Smart Home
- Villa
On difficult and wide openings the mesh rolls up and deploys at a single touch.

Motor, cassette and remote pairing are finished at the factory — it arrives ready to plug in and use.
It brings comfort to wide openings and to high frames that are hard to reach. When closed, the mesh sits inside the cassette, protected from dust and knocks.

Motorised cassette mounting: the cassette profile holds to the top edge and the side rails to both sides. The motor supply connects to a nearby socket.
Remote pairing is done at the factory. The wiring diagram is included in the box.
- The width and height of the opening where the cassette will sit are recorded (cm).
- The location of the nearest socket is noted — the motor supply is set accordingly.
- The number of remotes and the desired direction of travel are stated.
If the power line is far away, a battery motor option is considered. Share the wiring situation with a photo.
The logic of a motorised screen
A motorised screen does the mesh rolling itself on wide openings — on verandas, large balcony doors and business entrances, a manually pulled mesh is not practical. A mesh that deploys and retracts by remote is the answer for these openings.
Side guide rails keep the mesh in line — in wind the mesh stays inside the channel and the edges of the passage remain closed. The mesh both stops mosquitoes and preserves the view.
The motor type is chosen by the power supply: a wired line is pulled during renovation, while a solar or rechargeable motor needs no cable on an existing structure. The supply type is set according to the layout.
The solution for wide openings
On doors and passages wider than three metres, a motorised screen is effectively the only option — a hinged panel becomes cumbersome at that width and a roller screen exceeds its spring limit. The motor lowers the mesh at an even speed and covers the whole opening.
At café and restaurant entrances the unit works continuously — with the door left open the mesh stops insects and reduces the air-conditioning load; no staff intervention is needed.
Behaviour during a power cut varies with the motor type: a rechargeable motor keeps working; on a wired supply a manual crank lowers the mesh. This detail is settled at the order stage.
Installation and operating details
The cassette is fixed to one edge of the opening and the motor inside it winds the mesh — a top cassette for vertical applications, a side cassette for horizontal ones.
There are two control paths — remote and wall button. The remote manages from a distance; the wall button sits beside the door and cannot be lost. Commercial premises take the wall button.
The lower end of the side guide ties to the floor or threshold — the mesh’s edge channel works full length and the lower end locks. The guide’s protrusion is included in the threshold calculation.
The maintenance cycle differs by motor: a rechargeable motor’s battery is charged a few times a year; a wired motor needs no maintenance, while rail channel and mesh cleaning is done regularly.
A motor programme comes into play in commercial use — the mesh deploys at opening time and retracts at closing; with sensors and timers, the task leaves the staff.
The power connection runs to the nearest socket — the tubular motor works inside the tube and a thin cable leaves the cassette; on a battery motor the cable disappears entirely.
The lower limit setting chooses the mesh’s stopping point — set to the floor level, the limit stops the mesh at the same point every time, giving passage without touching the threshold.
Order notes for production
The motor type is settled on the order — wired or battery motor, remote or switch. The control preference is written into the production list.
Opening measurements and direction information guide production — cassette width, mesh length and guide length are cut to measure.
The number of remote channels is set for group control — on multi-unit jobs a multi-channel remote manages everything from one handset.
The electrical infrastructure is completed before installation — the socket point and cable run are finished before fitting day. This step is unnecessary on the battery version.
Pre-selection check
Beyond three metres of opening, a motor is the only option — the manual-pull limit and spring tension are exceeded at that size. The opening measurement decides the order.
The supply preference is settled before installation — a wired supply may need renovation work; a battery motor works without wiring but asks for a charging routine.
On multi-unit applications a channelled remote is fitted — group control from a single remote; the number of units is stated on the order.
