Mounted screwed to the frame face or the wall line. The bottom rail fixes to the floor; on the threshold-free profile option the rail height drops to millimetres.
On wide openings two sashes are planned to meet in the middle; the fixing layout is matched with the options on the mounting-types page.
- The clear width and height of the opening are taken in centimetres.
- The floor type is noted — flat floor, marble threshold or a level difference decides the rail choice.
- A single or double sash requirement and the gathering direction are added.
On doors, floor information matters as much as width-height. A photo is requested where there is a threshold or step on the floor.
Why the frame thickens on doors
A window sees a few movements a day; a door sees dozens of passages. On each passage the bottom rail and frame take the load, the mesh tension works, and the wheels travel along the rail.
A slim frame loosens under that rhythm — the panel sags, the rail starts making noise, the tension balance is lost. The 25 mm section grows the carrying margin for this load.
The threshold question
The bottom rail comes in three layouts. Where the floor has marble or a door threshold, the single-ramp profile rides over it; on flat floors the double-ramp profile breaks the trip edge.
Where barrier-free passage is required, the threshold-free profile comes in — for wheelchairs, pushchairs and bare feet the rail almost flattens out.
Moving from series to series
On windows 15–18 mm is enough; once the job turns to doors and wide openings the calculation changes. The 25 mm is the crossing point from window series to door duty.
On open facades exposed to wind, the next step up is the 26 mm channelled series — the channel is the only layout that stops the mesh leaving the rail.
