Day & Night Dual Pleated Blinds

The ecru sheer and cellular layer are placed to measure in one body. The set, packed without crushing the cell build, is delivered in its protective packaging.

The cellular layer's job is insulation: the cell geometry builds an insulation pocket in front of the glass, braking the escape of the inside warmth through the glass in winter. In this version the night layer is not blackout but a thermal brake.

The ecru sheer layer filters the day warmly. The off-white tone is compatible with the cellular layer's natural texture — the most organic combination of the dual build in timbered, linen, warm décor.

Three-layer performance: transparent filtering + cellular insulation + glass layer. Both light control and the thermal bridge are solved at one window.

The cellular layer's heat function

The cellular section is a build consisting of closed air compartments. The trapped air slows the heat flow — passage from inside to the glass in winter, from the glass inward in summer is braked.

On single glass or old joinery this layer's difference is felt most clearly. The cold current leaking from the glazing edge stops; the glass surface becomes almost a separate climate.

Since the cell texture passes no silhouette outside, the cellular layer also provides privacy. When it lowers at night, insulation and privacy come together; where full darkness is wanted it produces dimness.

The ecru sheer's warm complementarity

Using the cellular layer alone by day is not practical: when it lowers the room dims, when gathered the glass stays stark naked. The ecru sheer layer fills the brightness range between the two ends.

The off-white transparent balances the cellular layer's technical look. The cell section is mechanical; when the ecru sheer stands on top the window reads texturally softer.

In timber, linen and wicker décor this combination differentiates from the single-layer honeycomb: the cellular is reserved only for night and insulation work, the day's decorative face is given by the ecru sheer.

The realistic gain in the insulation scenario

On a winter night the cellular layer closes the air pocket in front of the glass; the cold flow felt at the glazing edge decreases. A portion of the heating load is won back from the glass surface.

In summer on the south-west façade the direction reverses: the cellular layer brakes the heat flowing in through the glass, the ecru sheer softens the brightness. The dual build stays active in both seasons.

This build fills the gap of single-layer sheer carrying no insulation: the cellular layer's heat control is added to the same filtered brightness.

Questions About Honeycomb + Ecru Sheer Dual Pleated Blind

Does the ecru sheer give a warm tone together with the cellular?
Yes — both layers stand in a warm tone; choosing ecru instead of the white transparent gives a more organic look in the décor.
Will I feel the insulation?
When the cellular layer closes, the cold flow coming from the glazing edge is cut at a perceptible level. Especially on old or single-glazed joinery the difference is felt clearly.
Is the cellular layer a blackout?
No — the cellular fabric filters light considerably but does not enter the blackout class. The room dims; where full darkness is wanted the foil-layered combination engages.
Does it work in the attic?
One of the most correct matches — in the attic the glass surface is the centre of heat loss; the cellular layer's air pocket makes the most difference at this point.
How to choose between ecru and white sheer?
Ecru if the décor is natural and warm-toned; white on white joinery or in a minimal interior. The insulation performance is the same in both.
