Day & Night Dual Pleated Blinds

The cellular and transparent layers are built to measure in the same body. The set, folded preserving the cell section, is delivered in packaging.

The cellular layer's job is heat. The cell section builds an air pocket between fabric and glass; this pocket brakes the room warmth's escape through the glass in winter, the entry of solar heat in summer. In this model the night layer takes on not blackout but insulation duty.

The white sheer layer keeps the room bright throughout the day. It stands as an invisible filter in front of the glass; when the cellular layer is gathered a thin bundle remains on top.

The combination produces a three-layer performance: transparent filtering + cellular cell + glass surface. Thermal bridging and light control are solved together in one blind.

The cellular layer's insulation mechanics

The honeycomb section is built from the alignment of closed air cells. Still air is a poor conductor; in winter the room warmth passes to the glass with difficulty, in summer the glass warmth into the room.

On a single-glazed or old-joinery window this layer's effect is most marked. The glass's cold surface is detached from the room; the heat current at the glazing edge stops.

The cellular layer also gives privacy. The cellular texture passes no silhouette outside; when it lowers at night, insulation and privacy arrive together. In a room wanting full darkness, however, this layer produces dimness — not blackout.

Why the white sheer layer completes it

The cellular layer alone is cumbersome for daytime: if it lowers the room darkens, if gathered the glass opens fully. The white sheer layer fills the whole brightness slice in between.

White transparent does not spoil the heat performance either. By day, while the cellular layer is up, the sheer lowers; the brightness enters, the view stays. In the evening the cellular lowers and the sheer gathers; insulation engages.

This build adds a day face to the honeycomb blind's single-layer scenario; it reserves the cellular layer only for night and insulation.

The real gain in the energy scenario

The window surface is the dwelling's weakest heat point. On a winter night the cellular layer preserves the room warmth by closing the air pocket in front of the glass; the perceptible share of the heating load is taken back from the glass surface.

In summer the direction reverses: on south and west façades the cellular layer brakes the heat flowing in through the glass. The dual build works in summer too; while the sheer layer softens the brightness, the cellular layer cuts the heat when needed.

The combination closes the insulation-free transparent scenario of sheer pleated: the same filtered brightness by day, an extra insulation layer by night.

Questions About Honeycomb + White Sheer Dual Pleated Blind

Does the cellular layer make full blackout?
No — the cellular texture reduces brightness markedly but it is not full blackout. The room dims; for full darkness the foil-layered combination is examined.
Is the insulation really felt?
The cold current felt at the glazing edge decreases markedly when the cellular layer is down. On single glass and old joinery this difference is at a tangible level.
What is the difference between honeycomb and pleated?
Pleated is a single-layer fabric; inside the honeycomb fabric is a cellular cell. The cell section builds an air pocket in front of the glass — the insulation comes from there.
Does it work in summer too?
Yes — on south and west façades the cellular layer brakes the heat coming from the glass; the sheer layer softens the brightness. The dual system stays active in both seasons.
Which room does this model suit most?
North façades, attics and glass surfaces with high heat loss are prioritised. In bedrooms targeting insulation rather than darkness it is also an exact fit.
